First M.I.A. event

I couldn't have been happier about the first M.I.A. Art & Literary Series event on 11/11. The turn out was generous, the audience was engaged the readers were engaging.

UH Manoa graduate students Ranjan Adiga and Joseph Cardinale read their short stories, Jerrold Shiroma (editor & publisher of duration press) showed us his text to image interpretations of Shakespeare's sonnets and Susan M. Schultz (faculty at UH Manoa and editor of Tinfish Press) read from her book, Dementia Blog. Robert Reed's performance, which combined his own experience as a flight attendant in New York City amidst the World Trade Center attack on 9/11 with the absurdity of the recent media explosion of the highly publicized death of Michael Jackson, was a knock-out.

I want to thank everyone for coming out and making this series something to look forward to every month in Honolulu.

Our next event will be December 9th.
